Courthope Road, Wimbledon Village, London

Rear Extensions, Remodelling and Complete Internal Refurbishment

This large Victorian semi-detached house had been the victim of various poor quality additions over the years resulting in a warren like accretion of spaces. The new owners tasked gosch with enlarging the property, simplifying its layout and, most importantly, ensuring it properly related to its part walled rear garden.

Previous extensions have now been removed and a large, 33m2 / 355ft2, kitchen, family and dining room has been created. A Bulthaup b3 kitchen is the main focus of the space which is lit by a huge motorised sliding skylight that literally opens the room to the sky, whilst a large glass ‘bay’, formed of low-iron glass, addresses the garden. Alongside the kitchen a well equipped utility / boot room caters for the family’s dogs and cats and provides storage for sports equipment.

All bespoke bookcases, wardrobes, AV units and joinery items were designed in house by gosch.
