Cloncurry Street, Fulham, London
Rear Extension + Remodelling
A visually simple free-standing structure is separated from the existing house (and earlier side return extension) by a linear glass rooflight and full-height glazed side panels - a continuous ‘ribbon’ of glass - to ensure excellent daylighting to the original, and newly extended, interior spaces.
The contemporary portal structure is completely faced in anthracite zinc cladding to complement the texture and material of the original building. Full-height minimally-framed fixed and sliding glass panels address the newly re-landscaped rear garden.
The extension is a clearly twenty-first century addition designed to counterpoint, rather than mimic, the existing house.
